Our story...

Big Js’ Biltong Bar, formally known as Big John’s Biltong Bar opened its doors in 2018 with the simple concept of providing Biltong along with your beverage. The idea took off. And soon demand for the biltong which was made in the pub kitchen far exceeded the supply.

For a good while the biltong and chilli bites made would only last a couple of days before selling out. “Have you got any biltong” became an all to familiar question. Followed by a “No, sorry”.

So to remedy this after a long and extensive search, a suitable property was acquired and over a period of saving up and spending on the site and saving up and spending on the site ‘J’ohn and ‘J’ulia opened a commercial biltong factory with a retail shop. And if you are reading this it means we have finally gone online so if you can’t make it to the pub or the shop we can deliver to you our pride and joy wherever you are in this fair land.
